Smart, funny, independent. You don’t have to love Aqua Teen to enjoy Dancing is Forbidden because it’s like hanging out with a good-natured, thoughtful friend as he weaves a bunch of research, insights, observations, and musings into a celebratory examination of something HE loves. But if you like Aqua Teen, too, even better: Ronnie captures what makes it so funny and unique. I’m a sucker for the deep dives into little things, like whether or not Carl could have seen Foreigner and Bryan Adams at the Meadowlands in 1983. Not to get too lofty about it, but that kind of curiosity and attention to detail is the stuff of a good life, I think, and I love that a podcast about a cartoon can showcase that sort of engagement with the world. Plus, you get to revisit the time when episodes originally aired, learn more about how Aqua Teen was made, and just plain old laugh along as Ronnie delivers a well-crafted podcast each week.
