Dancing Is Forbidden: An Aqua Teen Hunger Force Exploration

Tonight, you... will learn all about Handbanana in this week's podcast! Or whenever you get around to listening to this, it doesn't really have to tonight I guess... Anyways, when you decide to listen to this (it's up to you!), you'll be stoked to know that we're joined by ATHF co-creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, getting their takes on this iconic episode. While Handbanana is (rightfully so) a controversial episode, that doesn't stop it from being many people's favorite, including Master Shake voice actor Dana Snyder's! With an interesting mix of nihilistic horror and shock comedy, we get some great lines from Carl, Frylock voice actor Carey Means gets to show more of his range, and we actually get a competent villain for once. Other topics discussed include Scary Movie 4's insanely realistic Saw set, some hints towards the upcoming season of ATHF, and Aqua Teen's immortal feud with M*A*S*H.

Dickesode is a first for Aqua Teen in many ways, and I'm not dicking you around. The show's first episode of 2006, ATHF co-creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis are back in full swing trying to give Adult Swim's Standards and Practices department a stroke. We get some help from Matt and Dave, Dickesode's editor Jay Edwards, and dick drawing connoisseur Bob Pettitt as we deep dive into this infamous episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. While Our Host Ned Hastings wasn't real in Super Trivia, he's real as hell in person. A foundational member of the Aqua Teen crew, Ned entered the Adult Swim world with Space Ghost Coast to Coast in 1999. After working on some of the show's best episodes, Ned contributed to a very early iteration of the Rabbot episode as an ATHF proof-of-concept. From there, he went on to shape the series with crucial input on Mayhem of the Mooninites, guiding the execution of the Mooninites themselves. It was on the show's seventh episode, Ol' Drippy, that Ned joined Aqua Teen full time, contributing immensely to the show ever since then. You may know that by the fact I mention him in like every episode. Ned tells us all about Aqua Teen's new process of storyboarding, his voice work throughout the series, the production process of Plantasm, and much more! If you aren't hyped for Untitled Master Shake Project, then you a damn fool. Except not really cuz that's not a real movie. In Deleted Scenes, the ATHF crew re-purpose deleted scenes (and plot points) from the at-the-time unfinished Colon Movie For Theaters... except they do it in pure ATHF fashion; Shake and Meatwad don't really address the clips they are showing us, instead goofing off. Carl, however, makes Shake pay the ultimate price for deleting his scene... and sticking a broom up his butt... twice. We get all up into the different versions of this episode, the confusion it caused in 2005, and why this episode is full-circle for a lot of ATHF's production team.
