Dancing Is Forbidden: An Aqua Teen Hunger Force Exploration

Nick Gibbons (ATHF, YPF, As Seen On Adult Swim) is fun to talk to. How fun, you stupidly ask? Well, I only intended to chat with him for 30 minutes as an addendum to my coverage of "Moon Master 9: Beware The Gorgotron"-- but the conversation easily went on longer and became its own episode. Playing Samuel of the Cosmos, as well as editing on/producing the AduaDonk Side Piece, Nick has also spoofed streamers in his other work. We dive into his time on the short/AquaDonk Side Pieces, touch on Nick's other streamer spoofs (Final Deployment 4, ThundaClap!), and we also learn which game disc Nick wants to take a dump on.

Jay Wade Edwards is an Aqua Teen heavy-hitter. Not only was Jay a producer, editor, and voice actor on the show, but he is responsible for many of the in-universe TV shows the Aqua Teens watch, as well as for the special features on the DVDs. Jay still pops in to work on Aqua Teen, such as on the 2021 HBO Max promos, some of the 2022 AquaDonk Side Pieces, and he had a hand in the much anticipated 2022 film Plantasm. Beyond this, Jay has worked for Disney (Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder), Netflix (Kid Cosmic), and on other Adult Swim shows (Space Ghost Coast To Coast, Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell, Squidbillies, etc.)-- to name a few of his credits. Jay also edited the upcoming Matt Servitto directed film A Town Called Purgatory.
When not working on content for pay, Jay spends his time making his own content. With a 2005 feature length film (Stomp! Shout! Scream!), numerous short films (some of which are shot masterfully on iPhone), and even some blogs under his belt, Jay and I had no shortage of things to discuss. Would you sacrifice your entire identity as a human being for a brief moment of beauty? Carl did, and he paid the ultimate price: he became a clown. In this episode of Aqua Teen, Meatwad's desire for a new termite pet destroys Carl's house and creates easy viewing for the gang to watch Carl get it on. Hayden Ward shows up in this episode voicing the first (English speaking) female character in the show-- however, Hayden has done MUCH MORE for Aqua Teen than this role. Without her the show wouldn't have been as successful as it was. We also touch on the hidden Clown lore of the ATHF world. Imagine buying a home security system so incredible that it causes aliens to crash land in front of your house. How would you feel? Shocked? Excited? Annoyed? If you choose the last option, you might be Carl. In this episode of Aqua Teen, Carl accidentally summons two incredibly annoying frat bros to Earth, where they inflict a short-lived reign of unwanted sexual advances, vomit, and family braggery. Frylock builds a rocketship, Meatwad defends his sexuality, and Shake watches The Jeffersons in this episode that kicks off the Volume 3 DVD. Ronnie also gets into some ideas ditched from the original script, where "My Dad Owns a Dealership" comes from, and how "Frat Aliens" compares to "The Cubing". We've all met someone like the Wisdom Cube. A guy who just won't. shut. up. He jabbers on about the dumbest stuff you could never care about. Also, he's kind of a douche. Well, in this episode, we get to see the Aqua Teens deal with this paragon of vexation. Witnessing a barrage of "pranks", the Aqua Teens individually get sick of the Wisdom Cube, who turns out to not even be the Wisdom Cube. Jon Schnepp and Brian Posehn bring this "slice-of-life" episode to fruition, all while Carl applies for a restraining order.
